Irie Session Irie Lynn Session is a graduate of Southwestern Christian College and received her Bachelors degree in Social Work from Oklahoma Christian College. In May 2006 she received the Masters of Divinity, with certification in Black Church Studies, from Brite Divinity School – Texas Christian University. This gifted woman has served as a social worker, mentor, role model, counselor, teacher, presenter, preacher and pastor. She has received numerous awards for her work in the areas of sexual abuse among women and HIV/AIDS in the African-American community. Irie has been a Christian since the age of twelve. She believes God has called her for such a time as this, to equip the church for the work of ministry, in the margins. Irie is the adoring single mother of India Liana Session who she describes as one of the greatest joys of her life.

Susan is the Co-Host of the “Morning Show with Mike and Susan” on KSBJ, the most listened to Christian Radio station in the country. She is a single mother of 2 daughters, Sarah Beth and Megan. On her own with the girls since they were 12 and 9, Susan says those two girls are her best credentials! With comedy and a mix of testimony and song, Susan will take you on a roller coaster ride that brings you belly laughs to tears to belly laughs again! Susan loves to show women how they can get on with their lives, even in the face of though times and difficult past experiences. She will encourage you to go for it. Pack up all your worries and troubles in a great big bag and leave them behind! As she likes to say, “How can we be the light of the world if we’re too afraid to lighten up?”

Worship Leaders |
We are blessed to have these ladies team together once again to lead the conference in worship and praise to our Lord. Melanie and Lisa will lead us in song, helping us connect our spirits to His Spirit as we worship together. Melanie is the Worship and Children's Minister at Bering Drive Church of Christ in Houston. She holds a degree in music from Abilene Christian University. She has taught elementary music in Abilene, San Antonio, and Katy. Her passion, however, is leading worship, and sharing the amazing love of God. Melanie lives in Katy with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to movies, singing, and playing the piano. Lisa worships at the Sugar Grove Church of Christ in Meadows Place where she sings with the praise team. She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University. She sang with the Acappella Chorus and His Singers while at ACU. She currently works as the treasurer and credit manager for an oil trading firm in Houston. Lisa lives in Sugar Land and enjoys sewing, cooking, growing roses, and playing with her nieces and nephew. |
